Study presented at the final conference in Brussels

First European conference on the economic dimension of volunteering in sport was held on 28 November 2022 in Brussels. The NOC Secretary General Siniša Krajač welcomed participants and opened the conference.

The conference was organised to present the outputs of the European project ‘Economic dimension of volunteering in sport’ which was co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

The study on the economic dimension of volunteering in sport was conducted to inform policy making through empirical data. Research results were presented at the conference to promote better policy making in the field of sport with the objective of enabling sport clubs to provide sport services to citizens.

The study on the economic impact of volunteering in sport, the objectives of the EVIS Project, and the recommendations to policy makers were presented by the experts in the field of sport economy Günther Grohall, Themis Kokolakakis, PhD, Anna Kleissner, PhD, and Alma Papić.

Research was conducted based on the methodology developed by the research team of the EVIS project. All outputs will be published on the project website by the end of year 2022.
